Expanded broadband access helps families, businesses, and community organizations gain the tools they need to compete and succeed in today’s digital economy.
The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) provisionally awarded $711 Million in Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) funds to Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
Alongside their own matched funds, awarded ISPs will embark on broadband infrastructure projects across all 67 Pennsylvania counties in an effort to connect the remaining 130,000 locations without access to high-speed internet.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) National Broadband Map displays where internet services are available across the United States, as reported by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to the FCC.

If your address does not currently have high-speed internet, use this map to check if your address is part of a PBDA-funded infrastructure project to bring new or upgraded services to your area.
If your location is part of a project, you will be able to see which Internet Service Provider is completing the project.

Unserved Locations lack access to the minimum standard for broadband with internet service speeds at or below 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload. Speeds at this range include no internet service up to minimal internet activity such as basic web browsing and shopping, sending emails, and downloading music across a few devices per household or small business.
Underserved Locations have limited capacity for modern digital use with internet service speeds above the minimum standard 25 Mbps download and 3Mbps upload but below the high-speed threshold of 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload. Speeds at this range can handle streaming video (at lower resolutions), single-player gaming, video calls, and some file sharing for moderate-use households and businesses.

Check the PA Broadband Project Location Map for your address to see which program your location is under. Information within this map, including Internet Service Providers and locations, are subject to change prior to a project’s completion.
Once a broadband infrastructure project is completed, the Internet Service Provider may host an Open House or contact the new locations directly.

Grant funding was based on locations identified as unserved or underserved using the best available FCC broadband availability data at the time each program was developed.
There are several reasons a location may not have been eligible for funding, which include:
Broadband availability data also changes over time. The FCC continually updates and improves its Broadband Serviceable Location Fabric and availability maps as new information becomes available. As a result, the information shown today may differ from the data used when CPF BIP or BEAD eligibility was determined.
